Hello this is Ron!
This time, I visited the first Randy’s Donuts store in Japan, which just had its grand opening on May 15, 2025!

The location is in fashionable Shibuya Daikanyama.
Randy’s Donuts is famous for its huge donut sign that is a landmark in Los Angeles and was even featured in the Marvel movie “Iron Man. The donut store, which is also a popular tourist spot, has finally arrived in Tokyo!

So this time, we will report on
✔️ waiting time and queue
✔️ how to order
✔️ types of donuts and taste impressions
✔️ atmosphere and goods information
and more, with unique local experiences!

✅What is Randy’s Donuts?

Randy’s Donuts is a long-established doughnut store from Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. Founded in 1952, the main store (Inglewood store) with its huge doughnut sculpture is a landmark in Los Angeles. It has appeared in many famous movies.

It has also appeared in many famous movies, most notably in the Marvel movie “Iron Man 2,” in which Tony Stark is seen relaxing on a giant donut.

With its voluptuous, American flavor and colorful, photo-worthy appearance, it has long been a favorite of tourists and locals alike.

This legendary donut store will finally open its doors for the first time in Japan on May 15, 2025, in Shibuya and Daikanyama!
In front of the store, a giant donut sign (about 3 meters high) that replicates the main store in Los Angeles has been installed, and is now the talk of the town.

The store is located in the fashionable spot “Log Road Daikanyama,” near the station but in a relaxed atmosphere.

In front of the building is a huge donut-shaped sign about 3 meters high, reminiscent of the main store in Los Angeles! This is a must-see spot for a commemorative photo.

【Waiting Line Report】 Arrived at noon → 1hr wait! There is a numbered ticket system

When I arrived at noon on June 5 (weekday) , there was already a line of about 50 meters long.
The waiter told us that it would take about 1 hr. to get in, but it actually took about 40 min. to get in.

Incidentally, on that day, they were distributing numbered tickets, and I was given one that allowed me to enter the restaurant between 1:00 – 3:00 PM (*They were told me that I could enter the restaurant even after that time) After 3:00 PM, it seemed that I could smoothly enter without a numbered ticket.

After 12:30, the line stretched to a whopping 100 meters, so it was a good idea to come as early as possible!

【How to Order】Precautions for Self Checkout & Payment

As soon as you enter the store, you will see an array of colorful doughnuts lined up in a row. I was very excited.

Ordering is self-checkout style, and there are three cash registers set up.
However, only the one on the far right accepts cash, so be careful if you are a cash person.

Note that you must separate payment for eat-in and take-away!

After placing your order, you will have to wait in line at the counter in the back to pick up your order, which takes about 5 minutes!

【Types and prices of doughnuts】More than 50 kinds of doughnuts are available

The donuts are broadly classified into the following 4 types:

  • CLASSIC (from 360 yen)
  • DELUXE (440 yen)
  • FANCY (480 yen and up)
  • PREMIUM (from 550 yen)

There is a wide variety, from standard items to American-looking, seasonal, and volume items. You can choose what you like from about 50 varieties.

There is also a full lineup of drinks, including Lemonade with Tumbler (1,800 yen) and **Doughnut Box of 12 (5,500 yen, with limited flavors),
*Donut box of 12 donuts (5,500 yen, with limited flavors)* are also on sale.

【Inside the store】The atmosphere of the main store in the U.S.A.

The restaurant has approximately 20 seats inside plus 10 seats on the terrace, and it is also available for eat-in.
The walls display photos of the main store in the U.S. and scenes from the filming of “Iron Man,” making it a great place for fans.

【Food Report】 This time, I bought 7 kinds of food plus goods!

This time, I bought three donuts for eat-in and three for take-away, as well as some goodies.
Here are my impressions of each!

▶️ What ate in the restaurant

1. MAPLE RAISED (380 yen)
→ Light texture with a strong maple icing!
The sweetness and savory flavor made the biggest impact on me.

2. PINK RAISED W/SPRINKLES (440 yen)
→ Just looks so cute ♡
Not too sweet strawberry flavor with fun crunchy sprinkles!

3. STRAWBERRY CHOCOLATE TEXAS GLAZED (550 yen)
→ Super huge size, about 15 cm in diameter!
It looks great in photos, but the flavor is surprisingly modest. The chocolate flavor is strong, and combined with the size, a drink is a must.

Drink: LEMONADE (700 yen)
→ Surprisingly sour and refreshing!
Goes great with sweet donuts. Especially recommended to drink with Texas donuts.

▶️ Items purchased for take-away

1. GLAZED RAISED (360 yen)
→ Simple is best! The sweet glaze on the fluffy dough is the best.

2. SPRINKLES ICED CAKE (380 yen)
→ Rich vanilla icing accented with crunchy sprinkles. Would make a great souvenir.

▶️ Goods purchased

TOTE BAG「DONUTS FONT」- orange(3300 yen
→ I fell in love at first sight with the design, which features a doughnut signature, Randy’s store, characters and other doughnut motifs scattered throughout!
The orange color is the perfect accent to your coordinating outfit.
The large size (approx. 50 cm x 50 cm) and long handle make it easy to use!

There are also limited edition T-shirts (from 5500 yen) and caps (4400 yen)!
Some items were sold out, so check the website for the latest information!

【Finally】 Donut and movie lovers will love it! Decided to revisit!

This time I went to the much talked about Randy’s Donuts Shibuya Daikanyama branch.
✔️ There is a line but the turnover is fast
✔️ The taste and appearance are American and fun
✔️ The limited edition goods are cute and very satisfying!

So it was a very satisfying donut experience!
Next time I want to try the limited “LA Blue” custard-filled box, and I also want to revenge the T-shirt that was sold out…!

And above all, don’t forget to take a picture with that 3-meter giant donut sign!

The company plans to open 50 more stores in Japan in the future. If you are interested, please check the official website and SNS for the latest information.
