Shanghai Travel Cost Summary [3-day/2-night travel

Basic Info

Hi, this is Ron!
I have compiled the details of the cost of my actual 3-day/2-night travel to Shanghai, China.
How much does an airline ticket cost? Is the cost of food and hotel expensive compared to Japan? I will share as much realistic information as possible for those who are wondering “How much is the airfare?

In this blog, “Future Atlas by Ron,” I write realistic travel diaries of the places I have visited based on my experience of traveling to more than 15 countries, as well as my impressions and insights from my travels.

I usually travel on my days off while working full time in Tokyo, and I am active in my efforts to share the charm of international travel with everyone.

Transportation

  • Flights (around): 36,000円
  • Subway:1,500円

This time I flew with Jetstar, which is an LCC so no meals or drinks on board. That makes it a fairly inexpensive way to fly!
However, the seats are a little smaller than other LCCs and the seats are thinner. The disadvantage was that it was easy to feel the legs of the person behind me.

Getting around in Shanghai is mostly by subway.

  • It is very economical, with each ride costing from about 100 yen!
  • You can make a “Shanghai Public Transportation Card” to use the subway smoothly (can be issued at ticket vending machines at stations).

Reservations were made via Agoda.

  • Da Zhong Pudong Airport Hotel
→ Directly connected to the airport. Even if you arrive by late night flight, you can check in directly. The price is reasonable and the cost is excellent.

  • Other (café, etc.): 7,000 yen

Total: approx. 15,000 yen

Gourmet experiences are one of the best parts of a trip to Shanghai!

  • Enjoy authentic xiaolongbao at Nanxiang. The thin skin and juicy meat is very impressive.
  • For dinner, we went to the popular hot pot chain “Haizihao Yao Yai”. The service was thorough and entertaining.
  • At the Wugui Cafe, I was surprised to see a real alpaca in the restaurant! They were so friendly and cute that I was healed.

Experience

  • Shanghai Disneyland: JPY 10,000
  • Others (sightseeing, entrance fees, etc.): JPY 6,000

Tickets were purchased in advance through Klook.
They are a little pricey, but with a coupon, the cost of meals in the park was reduced!

Shanghai Disney is larger than Japan, and with the new Zootopia area and the newest attraction, Tron, we were very satisfied.
Don’t miss the cinematic realism of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Sourvenirs

  • Shanghai Disney: ¥15,000
  • Others (supermarkets and sundries): ¥3,000

At Disney, I bought a catsuit (approx. ¥3,000). It still makes me feel good!
Also got some cute sundries at Tianzifang. At the supermarkets Shanghai First Food Store and ole, we bought local snacks and beverages as souvenirs.

A classic Shanghai souvenir is the Great White Rabbit Candy, with its blue rabbit package. It is recommended for its milky, gentle sweetness.

Others

  • China Unicom SIM card: ¥1,500.

Available for 8 days, 7 GB and data only. Easily available at airports and online. It is the most cost-effective and has no communication problems.

Total Cost

  • 3 days/2 nights Total cost: approx. 125,000 yen

As a breakdown, the cost of souvenirs at Disney was more than expected.
However, airline tickets are even cheaper if you aim for sale times, and it is possible to spend around ¥100,000.

Summary
