10:00 AM|Acai Bowl Breakfast at Mighty Purple Cafe

After checking out of the hotel, we headed to “Mighty Purple Cafe,” a cafe that has been the talk of the town on Instagram. It is located in Hagåtña, the capital of Guam.
Free parking is available behind the cafe, and the interior, lined with ornamental plants and retro video game consoles, is sure to be a photo-worthy sight.

  • Mighty Berry Bowl(12oz / $9)
  • Mighty Purple Bowl(12oz / $9)

Both are full of fruit and hearty! 12oz is large, so sharing is recommended.

11:00 AM|Historical walk in Hagania

Here in “Hagåtña,” tourist attractions are gathered within walking distance, so you can enjoy a full city tour even in a short time.

■ Guam Museum

Admission is $3 (cash only). I did not have cash with me this time, so I visited only the free area, but the exhibits were solid and enjoyable enough.
*Guam is mostly cashless payment, so cash is basically not necessary.

■ Plaza de España

This area offers remnants of the Spanish colonial period. However, the area appears to be somewhat unmanaged, and sightseeing can be done in a short time.
*May not go there for safety reasons because of graffiti, trash, and homeless people sleeping there.

■ Rattlestone Park & Cathedral

The stone pillars that symbolize Chamorro culture and the beautiful white cathedral “Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica” are good photo spots.

12:00 AM|Local favorite taco lunch “Manang Pika Birrieria”

Enjoy authentic tacos at Manang Pika Birrieria, a popular restaurant found on SNS. It is a hidden gem loved by locals.

  • Birria Combo ($14)…2 tacos + nachos
  • Quesabirria Taco Plate ($15)…4 tacos

This is American-sized and hearty!
If you can’t finish, takeout is also available.

1:30 PM|Souvenirs & Shopping at Guam Premier Outlets

After lunch, go to “Guam Premier Outlets (GPO)”.
This shopping mall offers a wide range of products from popular brands to Guam-exclusive items.

  • Levi’s: 505 and flare jeans on sale!
  • Twinkles: Stuffed toys and fun stationery
  • Bestseller (bookstore): A wide selection of English-language manga and foreign books
  • Häagen-Dazs: Store type on sale for $7.6 for 2!

3:30 PM|Viewing the spectacular scenery at Two Lovers Point

In the afternoon, visit “Two Lovers Point,” one of the most spectacular spots on Guam.

Admission: $3 (free for children 6 and under)

Heart Rock Wall: Charms with keys are popular

Lover’s Bell: Bell said to make wishes come true

The panoramic view of the blue waters of Tumon Bay is breathtaking. Recommended for photography and sunset!

4:00 PM|Last minute shopping at Village of Donki

Village of Donki” is the latest hot spot to open in 2024.
It is a large facility that recreates Japan’s Don Quijote in Guam, where you can find everything from food, sundries, medicine, and character goods. They carry many Japanese foods, and the store is just too big!

It is close to the airport, so it is ideal for shopping before returning home.

5:00 PM|Fill up the gas tank & return the rental car

Rental cars in Guam are basically returned with a full tank of gas, so we refueled at a gas station near the airport.

  • Unleaded 87: Regular
  • Premium Unleaded 91: High octane
  • Diesel: Diesel fuel

【Note】The road to the rental car return location is difficult to find!

There were several points on the road to the rental car return locations near the airport (e.g., Hertz Rent-A-Car) where it was easy to get lost, even if you had done your research beforehand.

In particular, if you make a mistake at the turnoff just before returning the car, you will have to make a major detour to get back to the airport. In fact, we made a mistake once and ended up on the other side of the airport grounds, losing more than 10 minutes.

So, we will show you the correct route with images from Google Street View below. By confirming this in advance, you should be able to return your baggage smoothly!

①Take this branch to the left (going right is a major detour)

② Go straight at this branch (going right is a major detour)

③ Turn right on the road at the back (note: the road in front is a one-way street and you are going the wrong way!)

④ If you see this sign, you are correct!

As shown in the image, enter the road with the sign on the left and go straight, and that is the return area.

6:00 PM|Departure formalities & final souvenir check at the airport

After completing the departure procedures, make a final check at the souvenir store in the airport!
This is a good chance to pick up items you may have forgotten to buy, such as Guam’s limited-edition snacks and sundries.

7:10|Departure from Guam → 10:00 PM Arrival at Haneda

I left for Japan on the 19:10 flight. The return flight was also by United Airlines!
We arrived at Haneda in about 3 hours, ending our 2-day trip to Guam.

Finally: The second day in Guam is a great day packed with food, culture and spectacular views!

This time, we reported on the Day 2 of our trip to Guam, which we took on a bullet schedule of two days and one night.

Gourmet food such as acai bowls and authentic tacos, the historic town of Hagåtña, shopping, and even the spectacular view of Lover’s Point….
Even with limited time, we were able to enjoy the charms of Guam to the fullest.
